PostHeaderIcon The Design of Modern House

It is easy to confuse the concepts of modern architecture and contemporary architecture as the two words mean the same thing in occasional use. But modern architecture designed the pattern inspired by the historic modernist art movement, so that in fact most examples of modern house plans is at least fifty years old. The modernist movement was a revolt against the traditions of classical architecture. Since this movement spanned nearly sixty years, covering the various architectural styles including Arts & Crafts, ranch, and Art Deco. The movement also produced giants in the Pantheon of architecture, including Frank Lloyd Wright in America, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in Germany, and Le Corbusier in Switzerland.

The key elements that characterize contemporary architecture, open spaces, much of which Frank Lloyd Wright’s contribution. Wright seemed to separate rooms tended to impede the flow of living. Thus, modernist house plans are characterized by open floor plans that combine spaces for entertaining, relaxing and dining. Modern country house plans, large plate-glass window and outdoor patio to increase the living space and to get the feeling of the outdoors inside. Another important element in the modernist style, its clean geometric lines and lack of ornamentation, rather than the ornate columns and arches characteristic of the classical style. Modernism also adopted technologically advanced materials such as steel, glass and concrete instead of the traditional stone, wood and plaster. Another important aspect of modernism, it is”form follows function”ideals, which are largely contributions Mies van der Rohe and the Bauhaus his supporters, which you can thank for the office cubicle. Mies’view was that housing and other buildings should be big and wide open to accommodate different functions, and then split up as needed with movable screens and walls. Mies thought that the open space would create a sense of community.
